Eight-and-a-half long highway hours south of Calgary, you pull into Bozeman. But don’t look for us there; we moved clear across the continent to Fredericton, NB, in February. After graduating from the same Christian college, I was on staff with International Student Inc. (ISI) for ten years and Brittany volunteered for seven. While serving together, we fell in love with each other and this kingdom building ministry. Moriah (five) and Asher (two and a half) will be joined next month by another little Bevans.
God used the last decade to prepare us to begin a new ISMC in Fredericton. We came on staff early in 2014, and in three years God faithfully helped us phase out of the ISI Bozeman ministry, raise all our support, and successfully navigate Canadian immigration.
Yes, we jumped through many hoops to get here, but it is worth it—there are more than 1,000 international students from more than 90 countries at the University of New Brunswick and other area schools.
As we adapt to life in Canada, we gain a fresh appreciation and perspective of what it entails to move to another country and adjust to a new culture. We have a revised appreciation of what international students go through!
Our priorities are simple:
Please pray for the safe delivery of our third baby, that good rapport will be established in the community, and that the ministry foundations will be strongly anchored in the True Vine to bear much fruit!
