Banners & Friendship

An Easter Brunch

An Easter Brunch

Flags at city hall, foam-fingers at a football game, advertising banners on the side of the street are all different banners with 2 common elements.  They all have an identifying symbol and deliver a message.  In German, banner actually means proclamation.

Song of Solomon says, “He has brought me to his banquet and his banner over me is love”. When we invite international students into our lives, whether it is for an Easter brunch, to play games, or to tag along on errand runs, you’re inviting them to a banquet. You’re following God’s example and expressing genuine love.

As a friend, you define the banner you're gathering under and how to move forward. It doesn’t stop there though. People gather and rally with banners. This is also true of the friendships we form. Friends of our students don't want to be left out and so we grow.

So what are you proclaiming?
